Experience the adventure and romance of the Middle
Ages. Not only is it a glimpse into history, but its like time travel
kings and knights, quests and chivalry
Go Medieval with Kings, Queens and Knights in Shining
Armor. I love the thought of time travel. I mean, going back to
the time of kings and knights, quests and chivalry. I know a perfect
place for a mini time travel adventure to Medieval Europe during
the 11th century. How does one get there, you ask? It’s really quite
simple, choose Kissimmee as your Florida family vacation base and
then make your way to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament.
Many people won’t admit it, but it’s true. In fact,
everyone loves to be treated like royalty once in a while and that
is exactly what happens at Medieval Times. From the minute visitors
receive their paper crowns and enter the stadium they are treated
like lords and ladies and waited on hand and foot.
England
Hatfield House was completed in 1611. It was built
by Robert Cecil, first Earl of Salisbury and son of Lord Burghley,
the chief minister of Elizabeth I. The deer park surrounding the
house and the older building of the Old Palace had been owned by
Elizabeth’s father, Henry VIII, who had used it as a home for his
children, Edward, Elizabeth and Mary. It was while she was living
in the Old Palace, in 1558, that Elizabeth learned of her accession
to the throne.
The Hatfield Banquet offers a sumptuous four course
dinner and excellent entertainment, set within wonderful surroundings.
Whether you attend with a large party, a small group or as a couple,
we can assure you of a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and a unique
dining experience.
The Castello Ripa d"Orcia (Siena) - Situated
in the center of Orcia valley it is not far from Tuscany. This castle
was built in the early middle ages and is absolutely gorgeous.
Darver Castle - This is a 15th Century castle located
40 minutes out of Dublin. This castle has been renovated to modern
standards and is a thriving business catering to weddings, vacations
and corporate accounts.
Chateau de Ranton - Gorgeous 14th century castle
located in the Loire Region . If you are really a big dreamer this
whole castle and grounds can even be privately rented. Wow!
A king, a wizard, a princess, handsome knights on
horseback and chivalry; all of these things may be found at Medieval
Times Dinner Theatre. There is a Medieval Village with crafters
weaving and making chain maile and a dungeon to occupy those that
arrive early.
There is a four course meal, horse show, falconry
exhibition, and a skill competition between the knights before the
joust began. When the jousting took place I was on the edge of my
seat routing for my knight. The jousting and sword fighting was
extremely believable. I have seen many jousts in my time, being
an avid Medieval/Renaissance faire attendee, but not many as cool
as this one.
The high point of the evening was when the king
announced there would be a joust to the death. Hmm, what an interesting
twist! I was, needless to say, extremely excited. When the tournament
was over and the champion announced (no death involved) the crowd
went wild. I mean, how great is it when the bad guy gets it and
the good guy comes out the winner?

Cancun's
nightlife is unlike any other destination on Earth!
For some a day in Cancun doesn't start until tasks like
an 11AM breakfast, nap on the beach and siesta are arduously
completed. This is your place to shine. With the legal
drinking age 18 this is a choice hotspot for spring
breakers.
Don't be surprised to find yourself
dancing in a conga line, laughing your cares away and
speaking whatever espanol you managed to pickup. Little
more than twenty years ago, Cancun was just a Mayan
name, a deserted, sun-drenched island off the northeast
tip of the Yucatan peninsula The magnificent resort
city of Cancun now offers visitors over 25,000 rooms
in four and five star hotels as well as all inclusive
accommodations that offer package deals including food,
beverage and rooms.
Cancun Island is approximately
16 miles long with the highest point above sea level
being 200 feet. The State of Quintana Roo is located
550 miles south of Miami, in the South-eastern part
of Mexico. Along the coastline of about 540 miles, there
are numerous coral islands and a reef barrier, the second
largest in the world.
If you are searching for
calm, peaceful days to enjoy the sun and the sand, Cancun
boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
For those who go out more for daytime than night-time
sports, Cancun, with its beaches of powdery coral sand,
is the place to be. Cancun is a snorkel and scuba diving
paradise, the lagoon enclosed by the -L- shape of the
island, is ideal for sailing and water-skiing. Deep-sea
fishing and diving are fantastic in the open sea, which
stretches out in shades of light-green to turquoise
from the shoreline to the violet-blue horizon.
If you prefer to visit
the surrounding areas, there are many excursions to
the mysterious Mayan archaeological sites of Tulum,
Coba, Chichen Itza or Uxmal with. Boat trips to the
nearby islands of Isla Mujeres, Cozumel and Contoy are
popular and easy to do.
When
you think of Ireland the first name to come to mind
is Dublin. But there are lots of places to explore in
Ireland and Galway is such a place. Irelands Galway
is an experience to be savoured and remembered. Music,
festivals, horse racing, pubs, restaurants, shops, theatres
and most of all Galway people, combine to create this
atmospheric mediaeval city of culture. The enchanting
landscape takes your breath away.
Scenic Gaeltacht areas including the
Aran Islands. The heritage behind the Aran Sweaters
is something to be admired. Glaway is a mix of mountains,
castles and stone walls, banks of turf, long sandy beaches,
clear lakes, joyful leaping streams and flowing rivers.
Delightful countryside punctuated by pretty villages,
and traditional pubs.
Galway, called Gailimh in Irish, with
a population of over 70,000, is Ireland's third largest
city and is a major hub for visits to West Ireland.
It has long since been known as "The City of the
Tribes" and this title could not be more appropriate
these days, given the multicultural vibrancy of present-day
Galway.
Galway city is unique among Irish cities
because of the strength of its Irish language, music,
song and dancing traditions - it is often referred to
as the 'Bilingual Capital of Ireland'. The city is well
known for its ‘Irishness’, and mainly due to the fact
that it has on its doorstep the Galway Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking
area). The language is visible on the city streets,
with bilingual signage on display on shops and road
signs, and can be heard by locals around the city. Irish
theatre, TV production and Irish music are an integral
part of Galway city life, with both An Taibhdhearc,
the National Irish Language Theatre, and TG4 headquarters
in Galway. This has brought an Irish-speaking young
professional population to the city and county, and
has generated a renewal of interest in the language
and in language-related activities and social events.
Annual events include the Celtic start
of Spring festival Fleadh Imboilg (start of February),
the Cúirt International Festival of Literature (April),
the Galway Early Music Festival (May), the Galway Sessions
traditional Irish music festival, the Galway Film Fleadh
(July), the Project06 (July), which runs along the Galway
Arts Festival (July), Galway Races horse racing festival
(start of August), Galway International Oyster Festival
(September), the Baboró Galway International Arts Festival
for Children (October) and the Tulca visual arts festival
(November) to name but a few.
Africa
is the oldest inhabited territory on earth
with the human species originating from this continent.
During the middle of the twentieth century,
anthropologists discovered many fossils and evidence
of human occupation perhaps as early as 7 million years
ago. Fossil remains of several species of early apelike
humans thought to have evolved into modern man.
